Authorized status occurs when the sending bank account cannot be verified instantly at the time of payment initiation. Roughly 15% of banks fall into this category, as they do not share account data in real time. Payload is able to close this gap through Enhanced Account Verification, a back-end verification procedure that takes 1-2 business days. Once the account is verified, the payment will process as normal.
If you received a Rejection for the payment, the sending bank elected to not process the payment for some reject reason. While Payload account verification is very reliable, the sending bank ultimately has the authority to reject or approve transactions.
In this case where the payment was first in authorized status, it may take 1-2 extra days to receive the rejection alert.
